A Dwelling Place for G-d in the Lower Worlds?

Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812), in his work Tanya (the ultimate guide to understanding the mysteries in balancing the physical and spiritual parts of ourselves,) quotes in a number of places a famous teaching of the Midrash Rabba (a Jewish work explaining the homiletic side of the Torah.)

It is probably the ultimate key to aid a person to understand his duty and purpose in this world.

G-d wants a dwelling place for Himself in the lower worlds. Nothing less... nothing more.

In chapter 36 of Tanya, Rabbi Shneur Zalman says:

"The purpose of the creation of this world is that the Holy One blessed be He desired a dwelling place in the lower worlds."

In Kuntres Acharon 4 he says something similar:

"That this is the purpose of the descents, that the upper descended below to be for Him a dwelling place below in order to rise them up to be one in reality."

This Blog is all about learning how to create a true dwelling place for G-d in this world. It is connected with a Yeshiva - a Jewish learning academy - by the same name - in the Land of Israel. Articles regarding how to turn this world into a G-dly dwelling place will be posted, and those wishing to take part should please contribute.

Shiurim (lessons) are given both in person, as well as using the Internet through audio and video chat. For those interested in pursuing personal learning sessions with the author in both the revealed and hidden parts of Torah - please be in touch with Eliyahu ben Pinchas directly.
